I always take mine to the car wash.
I always use just a squirt of my dish washing liquid (dawn) . It always works for me .
Use a low sudsing soap - any kind of laundry detergent that is liquid will do, or some general purpose cleaners like Murphy Oil Soap. I would avoid dish soap because it creates too many suds.
use dish soap.... or use shampoo... shampoo is harder t orinse off though. i use dish soap on mine.
