Is it ok to use a bar of soap to wash your face in the shower?

or are you suppose to use a different soap for the face in the shower. ive been using a bar of soap to wash my face ever since i was a kid, but now im a teenager and im starting to breakout. Is it cuz of the soap?Is it ok to use a bar of soap to wash your face in the shower?
If you are used to washing your face with a bar of soap, then buy one for facial wash (like neutrogena). If you use your regular bar of soap,it might dry up your skin, especially if now you are starting to break out. There are a lot of facial soaps for acne, so you'll have to go see whats best for your type of skin.Is it ok to use a bar of soap to wash your face in the shower?
Nothing wrong with bar soap. Unless you developed some kind of special allergy, it's probably just hormones now that you're a teenager. Talk to your doctor next time you go, they can get you meds or find out if anything's wrong. Could also be bad eating habits, like a diet consisting of only chocolate, but i think that's also unlikely.
Hello

I am a skin care therapist, I would advise you not to use soap as your skin cleanser. This dries out the skin even more and makes the skin want to produce oil, making breakouts worse, it can also sensitize the skin. I would recommend using a natural based skin cleanser %26amp; moisturizer, Develop a good skin care routine, it will make a difference.
Depends on what kind of soap it is. Personally, I find that using soaps or cleansers specifically intended for the face produces better results. Alba and Ren make superb cleansing products for the face -- plus, they're cruelty-free (no animal testing or ingredients).
It could be--regular soaps tend to be very hard on your face, drying our your skin, leaving residues, or sometimes causing rashes if you skin is sensitive. I would recommend finding a daily face wash, like Cetaphil, that you can use regularly.
There's nothing wrong with it, but if you're starting to break out (and what teen doesn't?) buy a cleanser containing salicylic acid and wash your face with that. Dab a cream with benzoyl peroxide on zits that already came up. That's it.
ya...im a girl and i do it...it acutally gets rid of a lot of the dirt that's stuck deep inside...my skin is really good...another thing thoug...my skin is oily...if u have oily skin its fine...if dry...i dno ...try it out
NO..!!! Use liquid medicated soap..pick one your favorite fragrance but pick medicated only..
its a little harsh to be using on your face (it dries it out real bad)

you can buy cheap medicated face soaps that deal with breakouts
i dont think its the soap at all. its juss necessary body changes. Ask a dermetologist whats best to use on your skin. you could even google it.
I think u should go for a gental facewash..because soaps suck all the moisture from ur skin which is really bad..go for sum milk soap which is better than normal soap..n it will help ur skin to maintain its moisture.
its not the soap. just hitting puberty.. go buy some stridex or benzol proxcide face care or hit up a dermatologist they help alot. they sure did help me when i was young
It's not the soap. It's because of the hormonal changes going on in your body.
